Jesse Cantu received BSN at the University of the Incarnate Word in 1978.
Jesse Cantu has served in a variety of nursing and healthcare roles. He started his nursing career in San Antonio hospital Intensive Care Units and has provided nursing care in the home health and hospice settings. He has served in sales and education services of several pharmaceutical and healthcare companies that have expanded his knowledge in infection control, pain relief and wound care. With Nutritional Company, he was a sales consultant of nutritional formulas for critically ill patients. With Bristol-Myers Squibb he was on the clinical / sales team in San Antonio selling Amikacin to eradicate tough infections. He was salesman for Tylenol pain killers and a Clinical Consultant to Smith and Nephew Wound Care where he found his passion in Chronic Wound Management. In 2002 he became the first RN in San Antonio to be Certified Wound Specialist thru the American Academy of Wound Management. He founded Wound Care on Wheels (WOW) in 2002 and provided wound care consulting for Texas industry and healthcare facilities. For several years, he was an education specialist with Kinetic Concepts, Inc (KCI), educating healthcare professionals on a national level on the safe and effective use of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy. He is currently in private practice as a Wound Care Consultant in San Antonio.
